Talisker Distillers' Edition is a single malt that embodies the characteristics of a limited collection, utilizing the signature two-stage maturation process of the "Distillers' Edition" to preserve the original Talisker character while enhancing its depth and complexity of flavors. Matured first in refilled American and European oak, then a second time in heavily recharred American oak seasoned with Amoroso, the result is a rounder, richer fruit sweetness that harmoniously complements Talisker's dry peat smoke and familiar peppery notes. The nose begins with a crisp, ozone-like sea air and coastal seaweed, followed by a harmonious blend of darker smokiness, sweet malt, and sultana-like sweetness from the cask. The texture is oily and smooth, with smoky, briny notes and rich fruit sweetness spreading simultaneously, gradually developing into a tension of woody spice and pepper. The finish is long and powerful, with lingering sweetness that gradually dries down, and lingering notes of peat smoke and cocoa nibs.
