The idea to combine Wild Turkey Distillery's straight bourbon and rye whiskeys began in 2010, when an employee accidentally mixed a batch of young rye whiskey with well-aged bourbon barrels. Ten years later, Master Distiller Eddie Russell, drawing on his years of distilling experience, perfected a high-proof, aged variation of the harmonious blend of straight bourbon and rye whiskey: Master's Keep Unforgotten. The whiskey was then re-aged in rye casks at Rickhouse B, a pre-Prohibition aging cellar that belonged to Eddie's father, Jimmy Russell.
