To create the Glenalachie wine series, we first expertly matured the spirit in American oak ex-bourbon barrels. The whisky was then further aged for over two years in carefully selected wine barriques by Master Distiller Billy Walker, infusing the Glenalachie spirit with its distinctive flavors. Located in the heart of Portugal, the Douro Valley is one of the world's oldest protected wine regions, established in 1756. This historic region, awarded Portugal's highest wine classification, DOC (Denominação de Origem Controlada), is a leading producer of robust, characterful red wines. These carefully selected barriques impart rich color and flavor to our Speyside malt, revealing lush layers of dried stone fruit and delicate hints of warm spice. This spirit is bottled at 48% ABV, unchill-filtered and uncoloured, to ensure its full flavour.
