To create the Glenalachie wine series, we first expertly matured the spirit in American oak ex-bourbon barrels. The whisky was then further matured for over two years in wine barriques meticulously sourced by Master Distiller Billy Walker, infusing the unpeated Glenalachie spirit with a distinctive flavor profile. These exceptional French oak barriques come from one of only five Premier Cru Classé (First Growth) châteaux in the world-renowned Bordeaux region of France. These estates, at the pinnacle of the official Bordeaux wine classification, are considered to produce wines of the highest quality and flavor. Maturation in these former red wine casks infused our honeyed spirit with deep notes of black cherry and smooth espresso. The resulting golden malt offers a truly refined and complex tasting experience. To ensure its flavor, it is bottled unchill-filtered and without added pigment at 48% ABV.
