Part of Batch 3 of our Virgin Oak Series, this mahogany-hued malt acquires its distinctive spicy-sweet flavors from maturation in Spanish oak (Quercus Robur) hogsheads sourced from the forests of Galicia and Asturias, particularly the cool, humid climate of the Cantabrian Mountains. The oak was naturally dried for approximately 18 months before being toasted and charred intermittently, opening up the grain and allowing our complex spirit to fully extract the character of the cask. This second maturation in virgin casks not only deepened the whisky's mahogany hue, but also completed the palate with notes of dried fruit, maraschino cherry, and a subtle hint of pickled ginger. Bottled at 48% ABV, natural color, and non-chill filtered.
