This unique expression was developed in 2013 as a result of Nikka's ongoing experimentation to provide a wider range of choices and enjoyment for whisky lovers. Distilled using 100% malted barley in a Coffey still, the whisky is then aged in old casks, highlighting its rich malt flavor, complexity, and silky texture. Because it is distilled in Coffey stills rather than pot stills, it is classified as a "grain whisky" rather than a "malt whisky."
