Product Info

With the inaugural release of Yamazaki 55 Years Old, the House of Suntory pays homage to the passage of time. Master Blender Saji, tasked with realizing his father's dream, has created not only exceptional liquid gold, but also the quintessential Japanese experiences and lifestyles that have ingrained Suntory whisky in Japanese culture. Yamazaki 55 is a blend of extremely rare single malts: one distilled under the watchful eye of founder Shinjiro Torii in 1960 and matured in Mizunara casks; and another distilled under the watchful eye of second-generation Master Blender Keizo Saji in 1964 and matured in white oak casks. Fifth-generation Chief Blender Shinji Fukuyo and third-generation Master Blender Shingo Torii have collaborated closely, drawing on their signature blending skills to fully reveal the remarkable depth, complexity, and wisdom of Yamazaki 55. The resulting whisky has a deep amber color, a rich aroma reminiscent of sandalwood and ripe fruit, a sweet yet slightly bitter and woody taste, and a rich, long finish with a subtle bitterness and sweetness.
