Dr Bill has traveled the world in search of exceptional casks to infuse Glenmorangie with new flavours, and has always been fascinated by the spice market, brimming with fragrant aromas and iridescent hues. Envisioning a whisky imbued with such character, he, along with Master Blender Gillian Macdonald, experimented with finishing Glenmorangie, originally matured in bourbon casks, in four different cask types, a first for the distillery. Cask Types: A new Glenmorangie experience, Moroccan red wine casks made from French oak, imbue this creation with a mouthwatering layer of sweet spice. New Chard oak casks add another spicy dimension, while shaved and toasted red wine casks impart subtle, fruity notes. Pedro Ximenez sherry casks add a rich, sweet depth. This unusual cask pairing creates a uniquely complex Glenmorangie, and this fragrant, sweet and spicy A Tale of Spices overflows with floral notes of sweet spice, rose and jasmine, alongside sugared almonds and distinct eucalyptus notes.
