Inspired by memories of stepping into a French pastry shop, Dr Bill Lumsden first envisioned the dessert-like complexity of Glenmorangie The Nectar D’Or, and now he has taken that swirl of sweet and spicy notes to an even more delicious level in the award-winning Glenmorangie The Nectar. Matured for 16 years in a fortified combination of bourbon and sweet white wine casks, this new whisky boasts an even richer and more complex character. For added depth and creaminess, silky Glenmorangie was selected, having matured for 14 years in bourbon casks, before being finished for an additional two years in a new combination of sweet white wine casks. French Sauternes and Montbaziac casks add sumptuous notes of pastry, brioche, meringue, and baked apple, Spanish Moscatel casks impart sweet, syrupy dessert flavors, and Hungarian Tokaji casks impart notes of white chocolate, almond, and honeycomb to this creation.
