The idea for Signet first struck Dr. Bill, our free-spirited Whisky Creation Director, while enjoying a cup of his favorite Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee, and his mind was soon filled with unforgettable swirls of mocha flavor. It took years to bring this unprecedented whisky to life, but his most delicious imagination shines through in its tiramisu-like tones and melting chocolate. Signet begins with a rare chocolate malt spirit, distilled just once a year in a still as tall as a giraffe, its espresso-like intensity permeating the distillery with aromas reminiscent of an Italian coffee bar. Over time, this intensity is tempered by a blend of rare and precious casks: bourbon for creaminess, sherry for sweetness, virgin Chard oak for a spicy kick, and the distillery's oldest whiskies, all balanced by a blend of the spirit's finest. The result is a velvety explosion of flavor, with waves of bittersweet mocha, tangy spice and rich dark chocolate, all punctuated by smooth butterscotch, creating a whisky unlike anything you've ever experienced before.
