To create Glenmorangie Signet Reserve, Dr. Bill and the whisky creation team meticulously select a selection of matured Signet whiskies and mature them for an additional 12 months in Pedro Ximenez sherry casks. This process deepens the whisky's complexity and richness, ensuring that only extremely limited quantities are released each year. The original Signet was born when, after years of crafting whiskies acclaimed for their delicate character, our whisky creators began exploring a richer side of Glenmorangie's flavor profile. For one week each year, the distillery is dedicated solely to Signet production, halting all other operations and allowing the espresso-like spirit to be distilled in an atmosphere filled with aromas reminiscent of an Italian coffee bar. The resulting spirit is matured in bourbon, sherry and virgin oak casks, and balanced by blending with the distillery's oldest whiskies, creating a depth and complexity that astonished the whisky world when Signet first launched in 2008.
