Absolut 72 Bian, featuring the work of Chinese artist Gao Yu, is our first limited-edition bottle for China. Gao Yu's design is inspired by the ancient Chinese tale "Journey to the West," which tells the heroic story of the Monkey King, Sun Wukong, who gains the power of 72 transformations. Sun Wukong overcomes all obstacles with his characteristic fearless courage and creativity. To commemorate 2010, the Year of the Tiger in the Chinese calendar, Gao Yu added tiger stripes to Sun Wukong's face as a tribute to tradition. Despite geographical distance and cultural differences, we can truly connect with the history of this iconic figure, constantly transforming and advancing, driven by boldness and creativity.
