Absolut Berlin
Product Info
When we confirmed our collaboration with Berlin-based American artist Zhivago Duncan, we anticipated a beautiful display of anarchic, chaotic art, a hallmark of his work. And the result was nothing short of disappointing. Duncan's design transforms the iconic Absolut bottle into a window onto Berlin's landmark TV Tower (Fernsehturm). The bottle features a magnified version of the tower's famous sphere, topped with Dick Flash's graffiti-style quote: "Es ist nicht einfach immer ein Rebell zu sein" (It's not always easy to be a rebel). This perfectly captures the spirit of Berlin, a city that has long been at the forefront of contemporary art and culture. The color palette also reflects Duncan's personal experiences in Berlin. The palette encompasses gray, symbolizing old cement structures, green, the urban forest, turquoise blue, symbolizing the decay of old statues, cadmium yellow, reminiscent of the golden bricks of a Berlin summer sunset, and even the pink of a sunrise after a long night spent mingling with the city and its people. Duncan is never afraid to push boundaries in his artistic expression, a point that resonates deeply with us at Absolut. This makes this collaboration all the more special for us.
