Absolut was thrilled to collaborate with contemporary artist and tattooist Jerónimo López Ramirez, also known as Dr. Lakra, to pay homage to Mexican culture and the country's multicultural heritage. Dr. Lakra brought the Mexican spirit to life through designs that capture three core Mayan symbols: Huracan, god of wind, storm, and fire; Kukulkan, the feathered serpent; and Balam, the invincible jaguar warrior who illuminated the world by day and battled the underworld by night. The Absolut bottle became a vehicle for the contemporary artist to reintroduce this ancient symbol, beautifully blending past and present to create a statement of Mexico today.
