Unlike bourbon or rye whiskey, which by definition must be aged in new oak barrels, our US★1 Unblended American Whiskey is aged in barrels that have been steeped in whiskey, imparting a rich and distinctive flavor profile. In late 2013, then-Master Distiller Willie Pratt decided to re-release US★1 Unblended American Whiskey after a nearly three-year hiatus, deeming it “just right” and “better than ever.” Crucially, our US★1 Unblended American Whiskey contains no grain neutral spirits, giving it the distinctive “unblended” designation.
