While we regularly sample all Michter's barrels to assess the whiskey's aging process, we pay even greater attention to those over 17 years old. At Michter's, we consider the 17- to 20-year mark a "crossing of fate" for a particular barrel, allowing it to reach an exceptional level of quality. Master Distiller Dan Mackey personally selects these exceptional barrels for the very limited release of Michter's 20-Year-Old Kentucky Straight Bourbon.
