The Michter's team constantly experiments with the goal of crafting the finest American whiskey, distilling according to the proven Kentucky tradition. After years of research into various barrel finishes for rye whiskey, we are proud to present Michter's US★1 Toasted Barrel Rye. To create this product, we take our barrel-strength US★1 Kentucky Straight Rye and age it for an additional period in a second, custom-built barrel. This second barrel is assembled from wood that has been air-dried for 24 months and then toasted to our specifications. The result is a unique rye whiskey that we are proud to present to you. The barrels released in September 2023 have an average proof of 108.9.
