In 1996, a reunion of Buffalo Trace Distillery retirees brought back the "Old Fashioned Sour Mash" whiskey recipe used by Edmund Haynes Taylor Jr. in the late 1800s. This bourbon, distilled in 2002, is a modern reimagining of that historic process. Allowing the mash to naturally oxidize and acidify for several days before distillation, it creates a bourbon with character, depth, and body unlike anything else available today.
