Product Info

On the evening of Sunday, April 2, 2006, a violent storm with tornado-force winds ripped through central Kentucky, damaging two of Buffalo Trace Distillery's aging warehouses. One of the damaged warehouses, Warehouse C, the distillery's beloved warehouse built in 1885 by Colonel Edmund Haynes Taylor Jr., suffered significant damage to its roof and north brick wall, exposing several bourbon barrels to the elements. Until repairs were completed that summer, these barrels languished in the Central Kentucky climate. Years later, when tasted, the sun, wind, and elements had wrought an incomparable richness in the bourbon. This truly special batch of barrels has left the distillery, while it hopes to avoid another tornado, grateful for the opportunity to create this once-in-a-lifetime bourbon.
