Co-conceived by architect Kengo Kuma and The Dalmore's Master Distiller, Richard Paterson OBE, The Rare is the result of a once-in-a-lifetime creative collaboration that combines culture and craftsmanship. Just three bottles of this 48-year-old single malt were produced, beginning its maturation journey in American white oak ex-bourbon barrels. The whisky was influenced by matured Matousalem and Apostoles sherry casks, as well as vintage port pipes. The combination of spirits from these various casks was then meticulously blended in Scottish Tay oak and Japanese oak casks, elevating this remarkable whisky to its full potential.
