Product Info

New Leaf Distilling's Core Rye Whiskey is full-bodied and incredibly spicy. Based on the Bottled in Bond Act of 1897, the highest aging standard in the United States, New Leaf Rye is bottled in bond, without chill filtration. Using a unique mash bill of 95% rye and 5% malted rye, New Leaf Rye adds a new twist to the regional rye whiskey tradition. Aged for four years in full-size 53-gallon toasted and chard new oak barrels, no compromises are made in the traditional production process. All New Leaf whiskeys are made with a full sour mash Kentucky regime, are age-certified, and are always bottled without chill filtration. New Leaf's distillers learned the "black art" of making 95% rye, considered one of the most difficult whiskeys to make in the world, under the direct tutelage of Larry Ebersold, who perfected 95% rye at Seagrass, Indiana. Following Master Larry's guidance, we further refined the rye by adding 5% malted rye, bringing out a wider range of flavors while also infusing it with a hint of malted rye's signature elegance. The New Leaf Rye is delicious with just a drop of water, and it also blends incredibly well in classic Rye Manhattans and Old Fashioned-style cocktails.
