We consider our 100% Malted Rye Whiskey to be a malt whiskey first, and then a rye whiskey second, rather than a rye whiskey itself. Given this malt-centric identity, it was a natural choice to impart a sherry cask finish, a common feature in malt whiskies worldwide. The careful use of handcrafted Spanish Oloroso and Pedro Ximenez sherry casks has resulted in a whiskey quite unique within the sherry cask-matured lineage. The sherry cask elements are prominent and deep, yet beautifully supported by a tang of grainy notes that bursts forth like a sunrise on the finish. This adds even more body and mouthfeel to the already robust rye. Simply put, our Malted Rye has masterfully embraced the sherry cask maturation process and has now established itself as a world-class malt whisky.
