In 1870, George Gavin Brown created Old Forester on Louisville, Kentucky's famed Whiskey Row. To commemorate that milestone year in bourbon history, we've created the first expression in our Old Forester Whiskey Row series: Old Forester 1870 Original Batch. The 1870 Original Batch recreates George Gavin Brown's early batching process, where he blended barrels from three distilleries to create a consistent flavor profile. Today, we emulate this process by selecting barrels from three different aging warehouses, each with a different production date, alcohol content, and aging profile. These three carefully selected Old Foresters are then batched together and minimally filtrated to create the Old Forester 1870 Original Batch.
